CENTENNIAL SPORTS ACADEMY

Introducing Centennial Sports Academy, Ottawa's premier 18U hockey development program for aspiring student-athletes. Designed primarily for players born in 2009 and 2010, with opportunities for exceptional 2011 and 2008-born athletes.

Located in Ottawa, Ontario, CSA delivers a complete high-performance experience by combining an academic-friendly schedule, elite on-ice instruction, comprehensive off-ice training, and individualized player development. Our mission is to provide every athlete with the coaching, exposure, and support needed to maximize their potential, achieve their hockey goals, and build a foundation for success both on and off the ice.

Unlocking Potential On and Off the Ice

More than just a hockey program, Centennial Sports Academy provides a complete student-athlete development experience designed to help players reach their full potential. By combining elite on-ice development with off-ice strength and conditioning, mobility and recovery training, academic support, and meaningful exposure opportunities, CSA creates an environment where athletes can excel in every aspect of their growth.

Located in Ottawa, Ontario, athletes benefit from an integrated daily schedule that seamlessly combines hockey, fitness, recovery, and academics in one high-performance environment. Through showcase events, competitive opportunities, and exposure to coaches and scouts from across Canada and the United States, CSA helps players gain valuable experience, build important connections, and pursue opportunities at the next level. Our commitment is to develop well-rounded student-athletes who are prepared to succeed both on the ice and beyond the game.

Play More. Achieve More.

Unlike traditional U18 AAA programs that typically play around 30 counted games per season, the CSA 18U Prep Team competes in 50–60+ meaningful games, providing nearly double the on-ice development, competition, and evaluation opportunities. The increased game schedule allows players to accelerate their growth while gaining valuable experience against top competition throughout the season.

Beyond games, CSA athletes train in a true high-performance environment. Players typically participate in four on-ice practices and four strength & conditioning sessions each week, complemented by one to two video sessions focused on systems, individual skill development, and hockey IQ. This consistent, structured approach ensures players are developing every day; not just on game days.

CSA players also benefit from extensive exposure across Canada and the United States through competition in the THF, UT1HL, and NAPHL; three highly respected prep hockey leagues in North America. Competing against elite opponents while attending showcase events provides players with increased exposure to junior and collegiate scouts, creating more opportunities to advance to the next level.

Recognized for its elite level of competition and player development focus, the THF provides a challenging schedule, premier showcases, and valuable recruiting exposure to help athletes advance to junior hockey, collegiate hockey, and beyond.

NORTH AMERICAN PREP HOCKEY LEAGUE

Competing in the North American Prep Hockey League (NAPHL) allows athletes to face top prep and academy programs while benefiting from a strong regional presence throughout Ontario and Quebec. Where Opportunity Isn't Just Talked About; It's Connected.

CSA offers a unique opportunity for aspiring student-athletes through its official affiliation with the Ottawa Valley Centennials (USPHL Premier); the only official junior affiliation of its kind for a U18/18U program in the Ottawa region. This relationship gives players access to junior-level experiences, including opportunities to participate in games, practices, and team training when they are earned and available.

This affiliation is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the junior level while allowing players to continue developing in a structured environment. Rather than simply promoting the idea of a pathway, CSA's relationship with the Ottawa Valley Centennials creates real opportunities for players to experience the expectations of junior hockey and position themselves for the next step in their development.

EDUCATION OVERVIEW

At Centennial Sports Academy, we believe that academic success and athletic development go hand in hand. Our education model is designed to provide student-athletes with the flexibility needed to pursue their hockey goals while maintaining a strong commitment to their studies. CSA offers a balanced approach that allows athletes to continue attending their local school while participating in a structured high-performance hockey environment. This flexible model ensures players can stay connected to their academic community while receiving the training, support, and development resources needed to reach their full potential.

Where Sport and School Go Hand in Hand.

Centennial Sports Academy is committed to developing well-rounded student-athletes by placing equal importance on academic success and athletic development.

CSA athletes attend brick-and-mortar schools, with the flexibility to remain at their local high school through either a full in-person schedule or a hybrid in-person/online model, depending on their school's location, class schedule, and daily timetable. This flexible education system allows players to pursue a quality education while training in a high-performance hockey environment, ensuring they can effectively balance academics with daily practices, strength and conditioning, games, travel, and team commitments.

By integrating education with elite hockey development, CSA provides student-athletes with the structure and support needed to excel in the classroom while preparing for opportunities at the junior/collegiate levels and beyond.

CSA COMPETITION VS OTTAWA U18 AAA TEAM EXPOSURE MAP

Unlike traditional Ottawa region U18 AAA programs, where teams typically face the same five opponents throughout a 30-game season, Centennial Sports Academy provides a schedule built around variety, competition, and exposure. Competing in the THF, UT1HL, and NAPHL, CSA athletes regularly take the ice against programs from across Ontario, Quebec, the rest of Canada, and the United States, challenging themselves against a wide range of playing styles and elite competition.

The result is more than just a stronger development experience, it's greater exposure. Junior and College scouts typically don't spend their season watching the same local matchups week after week. They attend major showcases and events where teams from across North America compete. The question isn't just who you're playing; it's where you'll be seen.
