The Ottawa Valley Centennials are a junior hockey team competing in the USPHL Premier, the World's largest Junior hockey league. Based in the Almonte, ON, the Centennials are committed to developing athletes both on and off the ice, providing a high-performance environment focused on skill development, exposure, and advancement to higher levels. PROGRAM OVERVIEW

TRAINING

The Centennials maintain a demanding and well-rounded development schedule, practicing on the ice four times a week to sharpen their skills, systems, and compete level. Off the ice, the team comes together for two structured workouts each week, focusing on strength, conditioning, and recovery. Complementing their physical preparation, the Centennials also prioritize the mental side of the game through regular team video sessions, along with individualized breakdowns to help each player continue improving and reaching their full potential.

USPHL PREMIER

Competing in the USPHL Premier, players are part of the largest junior hockey league in North America, featuring over 75 teams across the United States and Canada. The Premier Division offers a highly competitive 44+ game regular season, along with multiple showcase events that attract NCAA, ACHA, and Tier 2 scouts. Each season, hundreds of players earn call-ups, college commitments, or advancement opportunities, making the USPHL a proven pathway for development. With a strong emphasis on exposure, structure, and progression, the league provides athletes with the platform, competition, and visibility needed to take the next step in their hockey careers.

GAME SCHEDULE & SHOWCASES

The Centennials compete in a 44-game regular season that provides both high-level exposure and consistent divisional competition. This schedule includes 12 showcase games spread across three events in the United States, giving players valuable opportunities to perform in front of scouts and recruiters. The remainder of the season is played within the St. Lawrence Division, where the Centennials face off against eight other teams from across Ontario, Quebec, and New York in a highly competitive and geographically diverse schedule, with almost all games taking place on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.

TRAVEL & ACCOMODATIONS

The Centennials prioritize player comfort and professionalism on the road by chartering full-size coach buses for all away games with Leduc Bus Lines Ltd.. Players are provided with quality hotel accommodations for all showcase events and overnight trips when necessary, ensuring proper rest and recovery. The team also fuels performance by supplying a nutritious post-game meal after every game, while all additional meals are covered on longer road trips. To further support players, snacks and hydration are consistently available both on the bus and in the dressing room, creating a first-class travel experience throughout the season.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Here’s what a typical week looks like for a Centennials player; built around development, competition, and recovery:

Monday: Team workout, followed by an evening team practice
Tuesday: Afternoon skills session
Wednesday: Team workout, team video session, and evening team practice
Thursday: Afternoon skills session
Friday – Sunday: Game days, with typically two games scheduled over the weekend

Carefully selected billet families in Almonte and the surrounding area welcome players into their homes, helping them adjust to life away from home while focusing on hockey and personal development.
